Great by Choice: Uncertainty, Chaos, and Luck- 1-minute read

If you read "Good to Great," this is your follow up. Why do some companies thrive in uncertainty, even chaos, and others do not? You will learn about 10Xers, who led and built their successful companies with ambition, discipline, and creativity.

This book will inspire you to create a GREAT culture in your workplace because you made that CHOICE. Get it on Amazon

My notes and thoughts:

  • 10Xers are clear-eyed and stoic. They accept, without complaint, that they face forces beyond their control.

  • 10Xers are disciplined, have values, goals, and perform.

  • 10Xers don't follow other people's advice; they instead look for evidence. They observe and experiment. And gets the engagement going.

  • Channel ego's into the company or leave it at the door.

  • Prepare for worst-case scenarios.

  • The importance of the 20-mile march. Commit to march for 15 to 30 years. My Reading+Workout morning routine is my 20-mile march.

  • Fire bullets, then cannonballs. Be aware of how much gunpowder you have.

  • Leading above the deadline: Bring reserves (oxygen, cash). Manage risk (time, money) Zoom out, then zoom in (respond, focus)

Read on, friends :-)
