"It's not differences that divide us. It's our judgments about each other that do." ~ Margaret J. Wheatley.
👋 Hello everyone,
One of my favorite quotes above ⬆️ And that leads perfectly into this week's book about the Learner and Judger mindset. Enjoy!
📚 Book Summary:
This week's book is "Change Your Questions, Change Your Life" by Marilee Adams.
This book is about the power of questioning. Changing our questions and mindsets can unlock more rewarding and fulfilling results. You will get practical skills and insights to apply daily, including the Choice Map. That map has been hanging on my refrigerator for years to remind the whole family of the power of the Learner or Judger mindset.
One of my favorite take away from the book is this:
"Most of the time, we're shifting back and forth between Learner and Judger mindsets, barely aware we have any control or choice. Choice begins when we are mindful enough to observe our own thoughts and feelings and the language we use to express them. This is the key to success—building the muscle of the observer self. Self-coaching is impossible without a strong observer! It is as simple as asking ourselves, What's going on? Where am I right now? Am I a Judger or Learner? Choices begin with observing our own thinking and our own mindset."
✅ Actionable advice:
Take the time to observe your thoughts and feelings throughout the day. Get up on the balcony and detach from the madness. Are you being a good version of yourself at this moment? Are you being kind and sincere to others and, most importantly, yourself? At the end of the day, you are the most important thing.
